6 Months Old

Yes, it's hard to believe! Seth is already 6 months old. Seems like yesterday we found out we were pregnant. Wow, how time flies! Seth had his doctor's appointment on Monday. He weighed in at 16 pounds 13 ounzes and 27 1/4 inches long. He is the same length as Breana was at this age, but 6 ounzes smaller! For a little boy who was over a pound heavier at birth! The crazy thing is, his head circumfrance is that of a 1 year old!!! He gets that from his daddy!!! He got his needles and did wonderful. He only cried while the needles were in, and then gave the Dr. a really dirty look! Oh, the personality!

Breana is doing great. Right now, she is spending 3 nights at my parents house because I was busy with a CGA exam. She is all done gymnastics for now. She absolutely adored gymnastics! She did so well! I can tell she will be the teachers pet no matter what type of school/sports she participates in! She has 2 more classes of preschool before Christmas and then we have a break. In January, we are planning on re-enrolling her in gymnastics on Tuesdays, she has preschool on Thursday afternoons, and she is enrolled in swimming lessons after that. Busy girl at 4 1/2!

Like I said earlier, I just wrote my FA4 exam last night. I'm 98% sure I'll probably have to write that one over again. I don't think I did too well on it. Oh well. I came down with the flu Saturday night, so I was out of commission until Monday. No excuses, I just don't think I studied well enough. sigh!!!!

Breana got to see Santa on Sunday at the Santa brunch in Oak Lake. Terry said when she went up to him, she gave him 2 big hugs, so big that she almost choked him! What a sweetheart! She had a blast at the brunch. She decorated cookies, sat on Santa's knee, got a flower balloon, and did some shopping for daddy and me. After the brunch, her and Terry went and celebrated Tyler's 5th birthday. And again, Seth and I had to miss it because I was sick. Being sick sucks, if no one already knew that!

Terry is doing good. He is still going to the gym 4 days a week. Work is kinda slow, they aren't selling a whole lot with the exchange rate like it is now, but they had a little bit of a spurt last week. We just got dumped on with snow, so hopefully that will get everyone in snowmobiling mood and they will get busy right away!

Anyways, I finally have some time, so I thought I would write what is going on with us. I better get back to cleaning my house. It's in desperate need of it!

Take care and Happy Holidays

His first food...

We fed Seth rice cereal last night for the first time. He sure liked it. He gobbled it up as quickly as I could spoon it to him. And when I didn't spoon it quick enough, he complained! He kept trying to put the plastic bib in his mouth, so that was always in the way of me feeding him, so he complained some more!

I was hoping that the cereal might help with the sleep patterns, but if last night is any indication, we're in for some very long nights! He went to bed around 9:30, and the only hour on the clock that he didn't wake up, was the 2 o'clock hour! Needless to say, I'm a little tired today!

Breana is doing very well in her gymnastics. They had an "I Can Do" session last week where they received a progress report on what they could do, and low and behold, she can do everything! She enjoys gymnastics very much. It will be hard when it is over in December!

Another thing that she has excelled in is her bike riding. She can now start and stop very well, and do lots of turns, and even stands up while peddling! She caught on to the 2-wheeler very fast and really enjoys going for bike rides now!

Mom, myself and the 2 kids are off to Winnipeg for a couple of days tomorrow to do some shopping. Watch out Tall Girl, Old Navy, and A Child's Place, we're coming in!!!

4 Months Old

First day of preschool

Seth is now 4 months old. It is so hard to believe...it has gone by so quickly! Hr has his 4 month appt yesterday, and his stats are:

Weight: 14 lbs 6 oz
Height: 25.5 inches
Head circ.: 17.75 inches (wowzers, that's a big head!!)

He is doing great! He isn't rolling over yet (back to front), but is close. He cranks his head around and gets on his side. I'm thinking another week or so and he'll do it!

He has finally started to laugh. I actually caught Breana making him laugh on camera today, so if I can figure out how to post video, I will.

We were out at my parents place on Sunday and Breana had a big accomplishment. She learned how to ride a bikw with no training wheels! She did very goof for her first time.

She is a busy little girl. She does gymnastics Tuesday evenings for 45 minutes, and is in pre-school on Thursday afternoons. She absolutely loves both! Her best friend, Tyvek, is in both activities with her, so they have lots of fun together.

Here are a few pictures to tide you over for a while !

After a false alarm...

on Monday, Preston Blake Andries was born this morning, Aug 23rd, at 10:15 am. He is super cute and looks like Mason (according to Auntie Denise and Uncle Terry). He weighed 8 pounds 6 ounzes and measured 22 inches long. A big boy who has big hands and long fingers!

I will post pictures as soon as I get them downloaded from my camera.

Congrats Gary and Angie!!! I guess Andrea and Mason are very proud big siblings!

2 Months Old!!!

Seth had his 2 month check up on Tuesday. He weighed in at 11 pounds 11 ounzes, and measured 23 inches long. That is a gain of 3 pounds 11 ounzes from birth and a growth of 1.5 inches. The doctor also measured his head circumference, and it measured 41.3 cm. That is the measurement that a 4 month old is supposed to have!! Good old Weins genetics! The doc gave him a good review.

He got 2 shots, one in each leg, at the same time, and he took them like a champ. He cried when the needles were in, but quite after they were done. I thought that he would have been fussy after that, but I had given him some tylenol before, and he ended up sleeping all day, except for 5 minutes awake to feed every 4 hours or so. Needless to say, I figured that he would be awake that night because he literally slept all day, but he slept most of the night as well! I didn't realize a little one could sleep so much!

Anyways, everyone else is doing great. I have my 10 year school reunion tomorrow. I can't believe it's already been 10 years. Time flies! I am still working at getting my courses done. I have an auditing business case that is due at the end of August and I have my auditing exam the first part of September (the one that I deferred from June.)

We are planning a trip this summer. We are heading down to South Dakota for about a week, just Terry, myself and the kids. We have no definite plans and no where to be, so it should just be a relaxing holiday with no deadlines!

We were invited to Clear Lake for the day by some friends, so we had a swim in the pool at their cabin. The water was 87 degrees...it was awesome! Seth loved the warm water. For his first swim, it was great!

Wowwie!

Seth slept for over 6 hours straight. I fed him around 10:15, and then not again until 4:30am. Its 8:30 now and he still hasn't gotten up again. Maybe we are on a roll here. I think Breana was about 15 months old before this happened with her...maybe he'll be easier...do you think I might be that lucky???

5 Weeks already :(

Seth lounging out at the driving range.

Seth hanging out with Great Grandpa Maurice for the first time.

A very proud Papa Don holding Seth for the first time.

Breana being silly with daddy's helmet and sunglasses.

I can't believe that Seth is 5 weeks and 2 days old today. He is growing up way too fast!! I'm not sure what he weighs right now, but the last time we had him weighed, he was 8 pounds 14 ounzes, and that was a his 2 week appointment. I'm sure he is at least 9.5 pounds now.

Sleep is sometimes something that eludes me. We can usually set a clock by him...midnight...3am...6am...8am...but last night it was midnight... 1:30am...3am..4am..5am...6am...8am. So needless to say, I'm kinda tired. I tried to sleep in, but Breana wouldn't really let me. She is usually pretty good at turning on the TV and watching a show, and getting herself some yogurt or cheerios, but this morning, she was in my room every 5 minutes for something. Oh, well... the life with a 4 year old, I guess.

We are having our 10 year school reunion the Saturday of the August long weekend. It will be nice to see everyone again. There are some people that I haven't seen since grad day, so it will be neat to catch up again.

Other than that, there isn't a whole lot new going on at our household. We are planning to take a holiday this year. Terry wants to take us down to the Black Hills for a week or so. We aren't sure when we will be going as his boss is currently off due to hernia surgery, so it will be sometime when he gets back to work.

And then there were four...

So, we had an exciting end to our week last week. It turned out that my blood pressure was on the way up at my last doctors appointment on Tuesday, so the doctor wanted me to come in Wednesday for a non-stress test. I went in and my blood pressure was 145/106. The doc wanted me to come in Thursday and do the NST again and mentioned there was a possible induction in the works.

Needless to say, my blood pressure was still high, though not as high as the day before, and my doc decided it was best to do an induction...ahhhhhhh!

After 12 1/2 hours of labor, (starting from a fingertip dilation), Seth Brayden made his entrance to the world at 11:35 pm, May 31st, 2007. He weighed exactly 8 pounds and was 21 1/2 inches long, and his head circumfrance was 14 3/4 inches. Daddy is sure proud!!

The VERY proud big sister Breana.

You know whats crazy?......

I phoned today to book myself and Terry into the dentist for a cleaning and general checkup. I thought to myself, yeah, it will probably be July when we get in. Think again! September 18th is the earliest appointments we can book! That's 5 months from now!

I'm thinking I'm going to brainwash Breana into becoming a dentist! There is sure a shortage of them in Brandon!

Snowmocycle

This was what Terry and Breana did one afternoon while I was busy studying for my accounting theory exam. There was everything on this motorcycle...a headlight, a seat, a motor, tailpipes, and even a copper set of handlebars! They had a blast that day!
What imagination!

I know, I know...

For those of you that check my blog on a regular basis to get our updates, I'm sorry it's taken so long to get another post up. I've been fairly busy.

I wrote my Accounting Theory exam on the 12th of March. I'm sure glad to have that one over and done with. I must say, that was one of the worst exams I've written in terms of not having a hot clue of what the question is asking, so needless to say, I flubbed my way through it!

I am going to start my Auditing course now. My exam is the 14th, and my due date is the 18th, so we'll see if I actually make it to that exam or not! I'm looking forward to this course, I think it will be interesting. A lot more so than this last course I just took!

My pregnancy is going well. I've got an appointment on Friday, so we'll see about my blood pressure and see how much weight I've gained! Baby is sure active, lots of kicks. It makes my belly move on the outside now, so I'm looking forward to letting Breana take a look.

I will post some pictures shortly of birthday party, belly pics, and such soon. We are off for supper, so I better get going.

Talk to you soon.

The first pics ever...

I went for my ultrasound on the 12th of January. Terry was able to accompany me there, and we got to see our new addition for the first time. The ultrasound tech said the baby was very wiggly, so it will probably be very active like Breana is. Everything looked wonderful. There was only 1 baby in there, and everything else was healthy looking. She gave me a revised due date of the 18th of June. The tech printed off some pictures of the babe, so I took some pictures of the pictures so I could post them on here. Hopefully they turn out!

This is a profile shot showing off the head, spine, belly and thigh of the baby.

This picture is looking at the face of the baby. Kinda alien-like, but still beautiful in my opinion!

I went for another appointment with my doctor yesterday. Since the 21st of December, I've gaine 8 3/4 pounds, so total over the 20 weeks has been 9 3/4 pounds...not bad so far. The doc asked me when I was planning on working until, and I said end of May, beginning of June, and he said we would play it by ear...hopefully everything goes better this time around! My blood pressure was 120/80, so it has not started to get high...yet!

Oh, and some interesting news came our way last Thursday. It turns out that we are going to be and Auntie, Uncle and Cousins to another little one! Gary and Angie are expecting their 3rd child only 10 weeks after we are due! It will be very exciting to have someone else to be pregnant with, and that our little bundle of joy will have a cousin so close in age! The whole family is very excited!

Well, so far, that is all the news that I can think of. Sorry it took so long to post, but I've been busy trying to get my CGA course done...lots of boring reading this time around...Accounting Theory, how interesting do you think it is?

God called his child home...

We lost my grandmother, Elviere Schoonbaert, Christmas night. She was in the hospital with stomach cancer for about 2 1/2 weeks. We knew about the cancer for about a month and a half. I believe she knew about it longer, but because of the woman she was, she kept it to herself.
She was born Dec 10, 1926 and passed away Dec 25, 2006, at the age of 80.

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along
the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one
belonged to him, and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life flashed before hime, he looked back
at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the
path of his life, there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed
that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me
all the way. But I noticed that during the most troublesome times
in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why
when I needed you most, you would leave me."
The Lord replied, "My child, I love you and would never leave
you. During your times of trials and sufferings, when you see
only one set of footprints, it was when I carried you."
You are forever loved Grandma, and will always be missed.
