Wowwie!

Seth slept for over 6 hours straight. I fed him around 10:15, and then not again until 4:30am. Its 8:30 now and he still hasn't gotten up again. Maybe we are on a roll here. I think Breana was about 15 months old before this happened with her...maybe he'll be easier...do you think I might be that lucky???

5 Weeks already :(

Seth lounging out at the driving range.

Seth hanging out with Great Grandpa Maurice for the first time.

A very proud Papa Don holding Seth for the first time.

Breana being silly with daddy's helmet and sunglasses.

I can't believe that Seth is 5 weeks and 2 days old today. He is growing up way too fast!! I'm not sure what he weighs right now, but the last time we had him weighed, he was 8 pounds 14 ounzes, and that was a his 2 week appointment. I'm sure he is at least 9.5 pounds now.

Sleep is sometimes something that eludes me. We can usually set a clock by him...midnight...3am...6am...8am...but last night it was midnight... 1:30am...3am..4am..5am...6am...8am. So needless to say, I'm kinda tired. I tried to sleep in, but Breana wouldn't really let me. She is usually pretty good at turning on the TV and watching a show, and getting herself some yogurt or cheerios, but this morning, she was in my room every 5 minutes for something. Oh, well... the life with a 4 year old, I guess.

We are having our 10 year school reunion the Saturday of the August long weekend. It will be nice to see everyone again. There are some people that I haven't seen since grad day, so it will be neat to catch up again.

Other than that, there isn't a whole lot new going on at our household. We are planning to take a holiday this year. Terry wants to take us down to the Black Hills for a week or so. We aren't sure when we will be going as his boss is currently off due to hernia surgery, so it will be sometime when he gets back to work.

And then there were four...

So, we had an exciting end to our week last week. It turned out that my blood pressure was on the way up at my last doctors appointment on Tuesday, so the doctor wanted me to come in Wednesday for a non-stress test. I went in and my blood pressure was 145/106. The doc wanted me to come in Thursday and do the NST again and mentioned there was a possible induction in the works.

Needless to say, my blood pressure was still high, though not as high as the day before, and my doc decided it was best to do an induction...ahhhhhhh!

After 12 1/2 hours of labor, (starting from a fingertip dilation), Seth Brayden made his entrance to the world at 11:35 pm, May 31st, 2007. He weighed exactly 8 pounds and was 21 1/2 inches long, and his head circumfrance was 14 3/4 inches. Daddy is sure proud!!

The VERY proud big sister Breana.

Some Pictures

I finally downloaded some belly pictures.

This was taken April 17th, so needless to say, I've grown a bit since then. I will post a more recent picture shortly.

You know whats crazy?......

I phoned today to book myself and Terry into the dentist for a cleaning and general checkup. I thought to myself, yeah, it will probably be July when we get in. Think again! September 18th is the earliest appointments we can book! That's 5 months from now!

I'm thinking I'm going to brainwash Breana into becoming a dentist! There is sure a shortage of them in Brandon!

Snowmocycle

This was what Terry and Breana did one afternoon while I was busy studying for my accounting theory exam. There was everything on this motorcycle...a headlight, a seat, a motor, tailpipes, and even a copper set of handlebars! They had a blast that day!
What imagination!

I know, I know...

For those of you that check my blog on a regular basis to get our updates, I'm sorry it's taken so long to get another post up. I've been fairly busy.

I wrote my Accounting Theory exam on the 12th of March. I'm sure glad to have that one over and done with. I must say, that was one of the worst exams I've written in terms of not having a hot clue of what the question is asking, so needless to say, I flubbed my way through it!

I am going to start my Auditing course now. My exam is the 14th, and my due date is the 18th, so we'll see if I actually make it to that exam or not! I'm looking forward to this course, I think it will be interesting. A lot more so than this last course I just took!

My pregnancy is going well. I've got an appointment on Friday, so we'll see about my blood pressure and see how much weight I've gained! Baby is sure active, lots of kicks. It makes my belly move on the outside now, so I'm looking forward to letting Breana take a look.

I will post some pictures shortly of birthday party, belly pics, and such soon. We are off for supper, so I better get going.

Talk to you soon.

The first pics ever...

I went for my ultrasound on the 12th of January. Terry was able to accompany me there, and we got to see our new addition for the first time. The ultrasound tech said the baby was very wiggly, so it will probably be very active like Breana is. Everything looked wonderful. There was only 1 baby in there, and everything else was healthy looking. She gave me a revised due date of the 18th of June. The tech printed off some pictures of the babe, so I took some pictures of the pictures so I could post them on here. Hopefully they turn out!

This is a profile shot showing off the head, spine, belly and thigh of the baby.

This picture is looking at the face of the baby. Kinda alien-like, but still beautiful in my opinion!

I went for another appointment with my doctor yesterday. Since the 21st of December, I've gaine 8 3/4 pounds, so total over the 20 weeks has been 9 3/4 pounds...not bad so far. The doc asked me when I was planning on working until, and I said end of May, beginning of June, and he said we would play it by ear...hopefully everything goes better this time around! My blood pressure was 120/80, so it has not started to get high...yet!

Oh, and some interesting news came our way last Thursday. It turns out that we are going to be and Auntie, Uncle and Cousins to another little one! Gary and Angie are expecting their 3rd child only 10 weeks after we are due! It will be very exciting to have someone else to be pregnant with, and that our little bundle of joy will have a cousin so close in age! The whole family is very excited!

Well, so far, that is all the news that I can think of. Sorry it took so long to post, but I've been busy trying to get my CGA course done...lots of boring reading this time around...Accounting Theory, how interesting do you think it is?

God called his child home...

We lost my grandmother, Elviere Schoonbaert, Christmas night. She was in the hospital with stomach cancer for about 2 1/2 weeks. We knew about the cancer for about a month and a half. I believe she knew about it longer, but because of the woman she was, she kept it to herself.
She was born Dec 10, 1926 and passed away Dec 25, 2006, at the age of 80.

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along
the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one
belonged to him, and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life flashed before hime, he looked back
at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the
path of his life, there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed
that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me
all the way. But I noticed that during the most troublesome times
in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why
when I needed you most, you would leave me."
The Lord replied, "My child, I love you and would never leave
you. During your times of trials and sufferings, when you see
only one set of footprints, it was when I carried you."
You are forever loved Grandma, and will always be missed.

155 Strong!

We went to the doctor today for my monthly check-up. Everything was right on track...only gained 1 pound...woohoo! BP was 124/70, so that was good as well. Dr S. was able to find the heartbeat very quickly this time...averaged between 155 and 160, which is where it is supposed to be.

As we were walking out of the clinic, Terry said, "That makes it all real...hearing the heartbeat." What a softy! It does really make it all seem a whole lot more real.

Next big date is Jan 12th, when we get to see our little babe on the ultrasound. I can't wait!

Hugs All Around!

We went to the Santa Brunch in Oak Lake on Sunday. What a fun afternoon! We had pancakes, sausage, eggs, hashbrown casserole, fruit, muffins, etc. for brunch. It was delicious!

There were a ton of activities for the kids to participate in. They had face paining,

a station where they made animal headbands, cookie decorating, kids shopping, and a bunch of other things. Breana had a blast decorating her cake, as you can see!

After she did that, she went into the shopping part. For $2 a gift, they can shop for mom and dad. I stood outside the area, and Grandma Ginny went in with her to help. Apparently, she didn't need any help, because Breana kicked her out! What a kid! I think she did a wonderful job!

Santa wasn't busy, so he came out into the table area to talk to a couple of the kids, and when he squatted down to talk to Tyler, Breana went over and give him a long, tight hug! This is a kid who wanted me to be with her when she sat on his knee! It was precious. After that, she went and sat on his lap and told him that she wants a flashlight for Christmas. A blue flashlight, to be exact. What a kid! Needless to say, she had a lot of fun, and got over her fear of Santa Claus!

Halloween 2006

I was finally able to get Breana's halloween picture uploaded today, so there she is. She had a blast trick-r-treating. She kept wanting to go to more and more houses. She was a beautiful little princess, if I do say so myself! We went up and down our block first, and then went in the truck to our friends around town. She fell asleep before we were home. I guess all that fun tires a little girl out pretty quickly!

My first Prenatal Appointment

I had my first prenatal appointment yesterday. All is well. We weren't able to hear the heartbeat yet. My Dr. moved my date from the 8th of June to the 13th. My blood pressure was normal (110/60) which is a relief! I hope I don't get high blood pressure again! Got on the scale and I didn't even gain any weight yet! Woohoo!

I am still feeling good. No morning sickness to speak of, which is a blessing. I am just getting over a cold, so that is good. I'm starting to feel a bit better in tems of tiredness. I can actually stay awake until 10pm!

I go back to the doctor in 4 weeks, so hopefully then we will be able to hear the heartbeat.

Please pray that this pregnancy goes well and that we have a healthy baby!

Plus One Makes Four

Yes, to answer all of the questions that we have been flogged with for the past 3 years, we are going to be having another baby! Yeah! Estimated delivery date in June 8, 2007. We had always wanted more than one, but God thought best that we should move into Brandon before we got pregnant again, so he made us wait a year and a half to get pregnant! Just goes to show that you have no control over it! The first took a month and a half, the second took a year and a half!

I seem to be feeling pretty good. No morning sickness to speak of. A little bit queazy first thing in the morning, but after that, pretty good. Pretty tired, though. Running after Breana, looking after the house, working...makes a preggo woman tired!

Anyhoo, theres our exciting news! Talk to you later.

I can't believe it...

After everything that was going on at the end of August...house renovations, moving, finding a babysitter, getting settled, having to study...I actually passed by Income Tax exam that I wrote! I squeaked by with a 69%, but hey, like my one boss said whose wife is taking the CGA course as well, that's like 100%! At least that one is over and done with, and I don't have to look at the Income Tax Act ever again if I don't want to!

Yeah for me!

It's been a while...

It's been a while since my last post, so I thought I should do it again.

Not a whole lot going on right now except Breana is having a time out for not listening. Go figure!

Terry and Breana came down with colds this last week, so both aren't feeling great. Friday, when Terry was in Wpg at the arenacross, he started getting an ear ache. After they were done there, and after they went for supper, they headed to the hospital because it was getting pretty bad. After a couple hours there waiting, they decided to come home. We went to the walk-in clinic on Saturday and he got some antibiotics. The doctor there said he probably won't hear out of that ear for about 3 weeks. I guess the infection is pretty bad. Needless to say, Terry is in a LOT of pain.

Breana went to her first non-family birthday party on Friday. It was Xavier's birthday from her babysitter. They went to the Royal Oak Inn. First of all, there was the Bubble Man. He made giant bubbles and put people inside the bubbles. It was neat. Then they swam, had snacks, pizza, drinks and swam again. Xavier opened his presents and then they hit a pinata. Breana had a lot of fun. It didn't take her long to fall asleep after we got home!

Not much else happening here. I filled 12 bags full of leaves from our front yard this morning. It was kinda cold out there! That's about it.

What a crazy couple of weeks!

Finally got some pictures of the house. This is the covered patio area. The garage is right behind this part of the house.

This above picture is the grass area of the back yard. On the right hand side there is a small fence between the garage and the house. There is rock and the patio on the other side of this fence.

Below is our kitchen (sorry for the mess).
This is Breana's room. She picked the colors out herself. Purple for the walls and yellow for the trim. The colors just so happen to match her bedspread!
This is our very empty living room upstairs. We put the laminate flooring in before we moved in and painted the whole upstairs except the kitchen, which we still have to do yet. Loving the laminate!
This is the outside of the house. The people that owned the house before us apparently thought that dark blue was a nice color to put on a house...well...it's not! We WILL be changing the color of the house because they used an awful blue for the trim. Hopefully first thing next spring that will get done!

Who would have thought...planes and trains all in one week? I went to Winnipeg on the 8th for work...one of our dealerships is there...and I flew with my boss in his 4 seater airplane. It was nice because it cut half of the driving time. It was kinda neat, I've only ever been in a plane once or twice before. Then, on the Wednesday after that, I went to Edmonton on a train!

I went on the Wednesday to go move Denise (my sister) back to Brandon. That sure is a nice way to travel. The train was a little bit late, but it was nice because I could sleep (well, kind of) and not have to worry about driving. It took about 13 hours to get there, so that's not all that much more than actually driving. We loaded Denise's U-Haul, just the 2 of us, in the rain, and we drove pretty well the whole way home in the rain. Rain...rain...and more rain. I am pretty sick of rain at the moment! Anyways, we got her unpacked last Saturday and I think she is settling in nicely.

Breana is sure loving her new babysitter. They are constantly on the go. There is a playgroup every day of the week that they go to. I took her yesterday to the one because I didn't have to work. She loved the playing part of it, but isn't really into singing the songs, yet you get her at home, and you can't shut her up. She sings at the top of her lungs! Different songs I guess. A lot of the songs she knows are Bible/Christian songs, and the ones at the playgroups are not. That might be why she doesn't want to sing.

Well, that turned out to be quite a blog!

Out with the Dial-UP

Wow! It's kinda nice to have high speed at home finally. After 6 years on dial up, its kinda cool!

This is my first day at home with Breana without having to study. We went for lunch with Terry, picked up some stuff from work, and went for a walk. I have a chiro apt today...this 3-day headache is getting really old!

Just thought I would try the old high speed out to see how it worked. Works pretty good!

Wednesday, September 06, 2006

Breana survived her first day with her new daycare. Terry dropped her off yesterday morning and only had to stay a few minutes until she got adjusted to the kids, etc. He said she didn't cry, so that was good. When I picked her up after I got off work, she was in good spirits.

Vanessa (Daycare lady) had done up a parents note detailing what they had done throughout the day, what they ate, how her demenour was, etc. She only had one time out the whole day because she hit Ty with her shoe after she thought he was going to steal her special Crocs that her Gramma Ginny bought her and she would have to get new ones!

The note said that she was quiet in the morning when the kids were playing on the trampoline, but she made really good friends with a couple of the girls that were there yesterday (She had three extra kids that she doesn't normally have).

Breana said that she liked it at Banessa's house and wanted to go back this morning, so that was good. I was not looking forward to her not liking it. I don't know what I would have done!

We are getting our Star Choice put in today. Yeah! TV again!!

The boxes in our living room upstair are slowly disappearing. One by one they are being put where they are supposed to be. I guess I will now have to start unpacking them. We got the trim put up in all the rooms except Breana's. We have to paint her trim yellow yet. Everything is starting to come together.

I forgot to say in my previous post that I got a new dishwasher! I came home from my exam last Wednesday and found Terry had went out to Home Depot and had bought one and had it almost installed! That was sure a nice surprise.

Anyhoo, better get back to work!

Becky
